TECHNICAL PROCUREMENT DIVISION

One of the problems in electronics in general, and in the communications and avionics industry in particular, is the proliferation of standards and specifications which are based on a bewildering number of codification systems.

Users often look desperately for a specific component by the original type number, without realizing that perfectly matching equivalents are available under another code.

BSL's TECHNICAL PROCUREMENT DIVISION has at its heart a computer-based system in which;the plethora of codifications are cross-referenced, together with current sources of supply.

Several large procurement contracts are presently being operated by this Division for a number of NATO and other governments. These contracts cover a wide range of spares for communications, radar installations, guided missiles and underwater systems.

BSL uses as standard the NATO Codification system which because of its excellence has been adopted by most countries worldwide.
